HailStateGiving-CHE-2016

A message from Dr. Bill Elmore, Interim Director of the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering:

April 20, 2016:

Through the vision and determination of our Advisory Board members, the revitalization of the ChE Unit Operations laboratory project was accepted as one of university projects highlighted in the HailStateGiving initiative .  The goal was exceeded and this launches us on a mission to see a major renovation accomplished in the Unit Operations laboratory. Our sincerest appreciation goes to our Advisory Board members for their vision and for their own generosity in supporting this and other important initiatives in the Swalm School.

51 donors gave $10,340 (plus matching funds) towards our project to REVITALIZE the ChE UNIT OPS LAB.

We finished at 101% of our goal of 50 donors.

A special thanks goes to the donors (Board members, alumni and friends of the Swalm School) for their kindness and rapid response to this project.  And we greatly appreciate the support of the Dean’s office and the Development officers in championing this cause.

In the coming months, we will be contacting past, current and future donors celebrating the news of this success and casting the vision for the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering—not only for our Unit Operations laboratory renovation, but for other ideas to accommodate our strong undergraduate enrollment growth including things such as the expansion and modernization of classrooms in Swalm, support for scholarships and the graduate program, and laboratories and activities associated with our new Petroleum Engineering degree.

This is an exciting time for the Swalm School and we eagerly anticipate your role and partnership for the future.
